Today’s Seeds for Tomorrow’s Needs

The Lord is like a farmer or the one who sows seed. He plants the word today for you to eat its fruit tomorrow. Sometimes we mistake the blessing of receiving the word with the blessing of the increase (harvest) of the word. Therefore, we should ask the Lord for understanding and for the ability to discern the purpose of the seed sown.

There are times when the Lord sows a word, and it produces quickly, and there are times when the word sown takes time to sprout, bud, and produce fruit. Despite the timing of fruitfulness, know that the fruit will come in its season. It will be right on time to nourish you in your current situation. There is nothing we can do to make the harvest faster; the sprouting naturally happens when the fullness of the time comes. However, at every stage of growth, you will receive what is necessary, and when the fruit begins to grow and ripen, you will eat the fruit at the right time. Therefore, never be disappointed or dissatisfied with what the Lord provides for your current circumstance because he gives the right amount of bread for today.

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomor

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Regularly receiving the word is vital to having a harvest in season. If no word is planted in your heart today, there will be no fruit for tomorrow. For this reason, the Lord says, sitting at his feet and receiving his words is the one thing that is needful in life. He also said that for all things to be added to you, seek the kingdom and his righteousness first. You will never go without as long as the Lord sows the seeds of his word. He has already taken care of the needs of tomorrow by planting the word today. When he can't sow into your heart, you remain anxious over circumstances that he has answers for in the fruit of his word. I pray you take time daily to sit with Jesus and receive his words - his words are spirit and life.

There is no need to worry about material needs when you are continually receiving seeds.
